Umbria is a region of Central Italy, bordered by Tuscany to the west, the Marche to the east and Lazio to the south. This region is mostly hilly or mountainous and for this reason that it called the "green area". Its relief is dominated by the Apennines to the east and the Tiber valley basin, accounting for the lowest point at Attigliano.
The Umbria 's capital is PERUGIA and we can start to show something about it.
The Palazzo dei Priori, Perugia is among the most renowned civic structures built by Italian communes of Central Italy during the High Middle Ages to house their city governments. It is not the sole Palazzo dei Priori: the Priori of other communes were housed in a Palazzo dei Priori such as may be seen at Volterra.
The structure commands the corner where the main artery of medieval Perugia, Corso Vannucci, enters the city's main square;a first section was constructed in 1293-97, at first as the Palatium Novum Populi, the "new Palace of the People", with ten bays along the Corso and three facing the piazza.
In this region you can find many differentes historical city, and for this reason we would like to show you another nice little-country like ASSISI.
The Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi (St. Francis) is a World Heritage Site. The Franciscan monastery, il Sacro Convento, and the lower and upper church (Basilica inferiore e superiore) of St Francis were begun immediately after his canonization in 1228, and completed 1253. The lower church has frescos by renowned late-medieval artists Cimabue and Giotto; in the Upper church are frescos of scenes in the life of St Francis by Giotto and his circle.
Whatever, in this region, we can find another delicious country, but we prefer to describe their monuments in this way.
Sightseeing TERNI, with the Roman amphitheater, once capable of 10,000 spectators, built in 32 BC.
Sightseeing SPOLETO, with the Roman theater, largely rebuilt. The scene is occupied by the former church of St. Agatha, currently housing the National Archaeological Museum.
Sightseeing FOLIGNO, with the Duomo or Cathedral of San Feliciano (1133-1201): a Romanesque building; the interior, however, was completely reworked in the 18th century).
